Sampson - Special Ed's Mini-LST2
Soooooo....after going 1/5 scale, what's the next logical step? 1/18 scale of course!!! That's how Special Ed ended up
with Sampson here. Actually, Dageek was talking about getting a 1/18 scale truck and that made Ed start thinking about
it as well so he went and got Sampson.
Sampson is a Team Losi Mini-LST2. The MLST2 differs from the Mini-LST in a few ways. Here is Losi's press
release for RCX 2007:
"Losi rocked the house with the debut of the hot Mini-LST2. Perhaps the most significant upgrade is the
inclusion of a 2.4GHz radio system. This update allows you to drive anytime, anywhere and not worry about frequency
conflicts or interference. The upper and lower A-arms on all four corners of the Mini-LST2 have been made thicker and
more resilient to breakage or damage and are dampened by blue anodized threaded body aluminum shocks. Other updates
include alloy ring and pinion transmission gears, a revised spur gear cover that facilitates the use of the dual-disc
slipper clutch (sold separately), aggressively styled body and all-new tires."
Sampson is new so hasn't yet received all of the upgrades he's going to get. He'll eventually have the full complement
of red aluminum parts. He's also going to get a brushless motor system (likely the Castle Creations Mamba-25 6800kV).
